Nick Rathod

Nick Rathod is the vice president of AAPI Victory Fund. Nick was also the Founder and Executive Director of the State Innovation Exchange (SiX), an organization that works to build progressive power in state legislatures and promote and advance state-based policies that support middle and working-class communities. In just three years, Nick took the organization from a small start-up to a multimillion-dollar operation with more than thirty staff across the country.

Prior to SiX, Nick served as Special Assistant to the President and Deputy Director for Intergovernmental Affairs in the Obama White House. He also served as the Director of Intergovernmental Affairs for the Obama-Biden Transition Team. In these roles, Nick served as President Obama’s liaison to states and U.S. territories.

Nick also served as a Senior Advisor to former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer, Senior Manager of State and Regional Affairs at the Center for American Progress and Director of State Campaigns for former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s Everytown for Gun Safety. Early in his career, Nick worked to support the AAPI community serving as a community-based lawyer at the Asian American Legal Resource Center in Washington, DC and a founding member and former Chairman of South Asian Americans Leading Together (SAALT), a national nonprofit dedicated to empowering the South Asian community.
