Linda Shim – Chief of Staff, Congresswoman Judy Chu

Linda Shim is the Chief of Staff to Congresswoman Judy Chu (CA-27). In this role, she serves as a senior advisor to the Congresswoman on legislative and political matters, and she oversees her Washington, D.C. and Pasadena, CA offices. Shim’s legislative portfolio includes intellectual property and telecommunications issues, and she oversees the Creative Rights Caucus, which is co-chaired by the Congresswoman. She also works closely with the staff of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC) to carry out Congresswoman Chu’s policy priorities as chair. She served as Legislative Director and Counsel prior to her current role.

Previously, Shim was a Legislative Assistant to former Congresswoman Jane Harman (CA-36), who represented the South Bay area of Los Angeles. In this capacity, she primarily handled health care and women's issues. She advised Congresswoman Harman on her legislative priorities during consideration of the Affordable Care Act and her priorities on military sexual assault. While in law school, she held legal internship positions at the Federal Communications Commission, the Federal Trade Commission, and Reed Smith, LLP. 

Shim was raised in Palm Desert, CA and completed her B.A. in Political Science at University of California-San Diego. She received her J.D. and Certificate in Public Policy from Catholic University of America.
